My daughter entered into a balsa structure contest, and wanted some balsa wood to get started. We'd got a few pieces from the hardware store, and they seemed to work well. We're now using these Pitsco ones, and its apparent that the density is much higher than the ones we got at the hardware store. When the title of the wood was Medium Density, I expected something similar to what we'd already bought (~120 kg/m^3), but these are much more dense (~200 kg/m^3).
