The 3B Scientific VJ500C human eye model is 5X life size for anatomical study of the following ocular structures: upper half of the sclera with eye muscle attachments, upper half of the choroid with iris and retina, cornea, eye lens, and vitreous humour. The model dissembles into six parts for effective demonstration, and is mounted on a base for display. The VJ500C is made of polyvinyl chloride (PVC) plastic, which is corrosion resistant, lightweight, and has high strength. PVC resists reactions with acids, gasoline, alcohol, and hydrocarbons. Anatomical models are typically used as educational aids in medical and scientific classrooms and office settings.

I am a 3rd-year optometry student, and have wanted a good eye model for a long time, and to have in my practice. I didn't like that the $20 models are super crappy and missing anatomy, and the really good ones are over $200, too expensive.

This model is amazing quality, perfect anatomy, clearly a lot of personal detail went into the hand-painting on my model. The superior oblique tendon even extends off of my model, which I love. And the lens in my model is an actual + magnifier, with the posterior surface more powerful than the anterior, just like in real life!!! I cannot express my joy at the perfection of this eye model.

The iris did have some scratches from rubbing on the posterior cornea, which is too bad, but for all the good, I forgive them.
Also, I have seen a few of this "exact" model at my school, and all of them are slightly different. Different quality plastic, different internal lens, different ONH sections, etc. So I'm not sure if what you're ordering is a big question mark.

I got this model on sale for $50 on amazon. Absolute steal. The very next week they raised the price to $100 (still lower than the $300 that 3B Scientific is charging).

Very satisfied. I will probably purchase another one in a few years.
