The kit includes mousetraps, balsa wood blocks, wheels, axles, string, and hardware for building vehicles. Students can also supplement the included parts with items brought from home to build their vehicles. The RatPak project exposes students to the design process and encourages them to experiment with their own designs and parts of their choice to cultivate problem-solving skills. It reinforces technology, engineering, and math concepts as students design and build cars based on factors that impact performance.
