This is seriously good stuff. You should buy this, even if you don't think you need it. For some day, you will.. oh, will you ever.

In detail, this is basic everyday electrical tape. But the wonder and magic of electrical tape has long been a hidden secret among the Cult of Electricians. They largely enjoyed that whole "not getting shocked" thing, but totally missed out on the notion of designer colors. For most of its history, going back to the dark, dark days of cloth tape, electrical "insulating" tape was black. Just black. And while have heard, with some conviction (and one personal experience), "once you've had black, you don't go back", I'm fairly sure that was not specifically about tape.

So think about what you're getting here. This tape can protect you from high voltage. Well, high-ish.. I'm thinking 110-230V, not the 7200V you'll find on local power lines, or the crazy high stuff on the long range transmission lines. But for most purposes, it will block the shock. I want that. You should too.

But the colors and high durability lead to other uses. I have used this tape to color-code all my microphone and guitar cables. This gives me the magical ability to know instantly which cable is which, out of dozens of cables. Sweet! I also have these tapes on my microphone stands, which helps ensure that my stands never go home with the wrong person.
