The 3B Scientific G08 heart model is approximately life size for anatomical study of cardiac structures, and dissembles into two pieces for effective demonstration. The model has a removable front heart wall for viewing the chambers and valves. The G08 is mounted on a stand for display, and is made of polyvinyl chloride (PVC) plastic, which is corrosion resistant, lightweight, and has high strength. PVC resists reactions with acids, gasoline, alcohol, and hydrocarbons. Anatomical models are typically used as educational aids in medical and scientific classrooms and office settings.

Based on the reviews I had read here I felt i was really gambling with this order but I am very happy with it. The size of the model heart is slightly larger than a man's clenched fist. For individual use it's just right. If you are going to hold it up to show a classroom of people it would be a little small.

It is made from a flexible material, just like the ones in the doctors office. In addition to the actual heart structure, about 2" of aorta, pulmonary artery and superior vena cava extend from the top of the model.

The exterior surface has molded-in detail (coronary arteries etc.) which are also painted. The model without stand weighs just shy of half a pound. The removable cover is detailed on the inside as well as the outside. The cover has a built in steel alignment pin which holds it in place.

It comes with a sturdy plastic stand for display purposes.

The only minor negative that I have found is with the documentation. There is a booklet with full color illustrations of the model and each part has a lettered call-out. That letter corresponds to another page containing a key, listing the names of the parts of the heart. While this may be a useful testing tool, I found it inconvenient to flip back and forth from illustration to the key while I was learning the parts. I actually wrote in the names on the illustration to make it easier.
