EISCO ballistics car is used for study of the dynamics of projectiles. The car has a metallic barrel mounted vertically for expelling a ball, with a spring-loaded piston arrangement at two settings for ejecting a ball to two different heights (ball included). The car is made of aluminum, which resists corrosion and tarnishing, and is lightweight, and has plastic wheels with ball bearings for minimizing friction. The car includes a steel ball and a lock pin with a cord for demonstration purposes, and instructions for use. Steel is a good general purpose material, and has better weldability and increased rust resistance over wrought iron. The car measures 28.0 x 14.0 x 19.0cm (L x W x H). (L is length, the horizontal distance from left to right; W is width, the horizontal distance from front to back; H is height, the vertical distance from the lowest to highest point.) The car is suitable for high school or college students, or ages 13 to 21.

Well built item, a bit tricky to use. Definitely not for children to use, as the spring launches a heavy steel ball at a goodly rate into the air. E.g. do not launch when looking down into the tube! Ads sometimes state that the ball launches 8 to 12 inches above the top of the tube, but it really is a maximum of 6 inches. The EISCO car was the highest launch of the ones we purchased (and returned), the others being barely visible above the tube.
