A decent item. A nicely made electromagnet. Ony have two faults with this unit neither deal breakers. The nuts on the binding posts that you connect your power to are a little fragile feeling. They may not hold up may want to replace with wing nuts. Biggest gripe is the iron core is just plain unfinished iron. Was dull and only moderately smooth when I received it. I live in Miami, Fl and we have a lot of humidity here. In less than two weeks the core has developed a light rust all over it. I plan on buffing it back smooth and giving it a couple of coats of clear lacquer. This will make it look better and slide smoother in the core. The rust looks bad and the core is a sloppy fit to the core and when extended more than just a little the rust causes it to catch and not move. Would purchase again but would fix the short comings right away.
