Product Description
NEW REVISION 3! The Arduino Uno is a microcontroller board based on the ATmega328. It has 14 digital input/output pins (of which 6 can be used as PWM outputs), 6 analog inputs, a 16 MHz crystal oscillator, a USB connection, a power jack, an ICSP header, and a reset button. It contains everything needed to support the microcontroller; simply connect it to a computer with a USB cable or power it with a AC-to-DC adapter or battery to get started. The Uno differs from all preceding boards in that it does not use the FTDI USB-to-serial driver chip. Instead, it features the Atmega8U2 programmed as a USB-to-serial converter.Arduino UNO Rev.3 Review
Beaware this product sold by BuddyGoody and made by Smart Projects. This is the second Arduino I bought, which I compared to the first authentic Arduino I have. Several places raise red flags:1. The advertised picture is false. This board from BuddyGoody comes in a OEM package, which is a static bag. The authentic Arduino would come in the original Arduino box.
2. There are only several decals on the board, but the decals on the BuddyGoody board use three different types of fonts! For example, the decal "POWER" is using Arial, but "ANALOG IN" is using Times New Roman. The authentic Arduino only use one type of font consistently.
3. The onboard LED of BuddyGoody board looks plastic and impure. The authentic Arduino's onboard LED looks a sold and opaque.
4. The Italy map on the backside of BuddyGoody board looks funny. The boot does not look like made in Italy, but China!
The only reason that I am not returning BuddyGoody board is that the chipset seems real, it did test ok with a simple sketch, and this OEM board sells cheaper than the board sold by NKC Electronics and made by Arduino, which I assume is authentic.
