This Spyraflo self-aligning low-temperature PTFE-impregnated bronze housing-flange unit with an aluminum housing and two bolt holes is designed for mounting onto bearing surfaces perpendicular to the shaft axis. The housing is made of sintered aluminum for corrosion resistance and dimensional consistency, and is suitable for horizontal mounting. The bronze plain bearing insert in the housing supports heavy loads, moderate speeds, and rotational, oscillatory, and linear motion. The bronze is sintered onto a steel backing for rigidity and a high load carrying capacity, and is impregnated with a polytetrafluoroethylene (PTFE) lubricant to reduce friction for applications that require slow speeds and frequent starts and stops. The lubricant remains in the pores of the bearing to provide lubricant from the bearing to the shaft during operation. The bearing resists glycols, alcohol, water, and mineral oils and is particularly suited for shock loads and applications with high levels of dirt and dust. The bearing insert is self-aligning and compensates for +/- 5 degrees of static misalignment. This plain bearing has a maximum load value of 8,000 psi (pounds per square inch), a maximum velocity value of 400 fpm (surface feet per minute), and a maximum load-at-velocity (PV) value of 50,000, and operates at temperatures ranging from -200 to 200 degrees F (-128 to 93 degrees C). This worked very well for me as a high load, not-so-high-precision bearing for my small wood lathe project. Inexpensive and should work for most of your needs.

The "PTFE impregnated bronze" bearing surface doesn't look like metal, it's more like a thin layer of soft black stuff on a metal collar. I can dent the black thing using my finger nails. Despite this, it seems to be fairly tough. It withstood the attack of wood dust so far.

Since it's not a hard metal-to-metal contact, don't expect a very good precision. I haven't made any measurement, but if I put a high lateral load on the shaft of my wood lathe, I can feel a tiny lateral play.
