Product Description

This Spyraflo non-aligning PTFE-impregnated bronze bearing with steel flange and two bolt holes is designed for mounting onto bearing surfaces perpendicular to the shaft axis. The flange is made of steel for strength and resistance to shock. The bronze plain bearing insert in the housing supports heavy loads, moderate speeds, and rotational, oscillatory, and linear motion. It is bonded to a steel backing for rigidity and a high load carrying capacity, and is impregnated with a polytetrafluoroethylene (PTFE) lubricant to reduce friction for applications that require slow speeds and frequent starts and stops. The lubricant remains in the pores of the bearing to provide lubricant from the bearing to the shaft during operation. The bearing resists glycols, alcohol, water, and mineral oils and is particularly suited for shock loads and applications with high levels of dirt and dust. The bearing insert is self-clinched in the steel flange for a secure fit and is replaceable. This plain bearing has a maximum load value of 8,000 psi (pounds per square inch), a maximum velocity value of 400 fpm (surface feet per minute), and a maximum load-at-velocity (PV) value of 50,000, and operates at temperatures ranging from -40 to 280 degrees F (-40 to 137 degrees C). Designed with a regular straight bore, this bearing fits to conventional cylindrical shafts. Plain flanged bearings are for use in various applications such as heavy-lifting equipment, pumps, aircraft, and motors, among others.

I have a Sears Craftsman Home Sharpener that quit working. When I opened it up, I found that two drive-belts inside had disintegrated. (There's no other word for it; they had crumbled into dust and fibers.) I was able to find the part-number and specifications online, but Sears no longer stocks them. Fortunately, I came across a blogger who said he'd found a compatible replacement-part from Dayton.

Miniature Side Flange Mounted Bearing, 2 Bolt, 1/4" Inside Diameter, Steel, Inch Review

Bought these to go on the bottom of a drill press mounted drum sander and they work very well! The drum sander is from Industrial Abrasives and originally came with a piece of metal strap with a hole that the sander mounted in. Its was sloppy and heated up via direct contact with the rotating shaft. These solved that as the shaft is 1/4". Recommend both the drum sander and these!

I got these ball bearings as replacement rollers for an old steal desk. They fit in the rail as perfectly as the originals. The finish is very smooth and my drawers are working perfectly. I expect that they will last forever for this application. I've been to several stores and tried other bearings but they were never quite the right size.
