ScotchBlue Painter's Tape, Advanced Multi-Surface, .94-Inch by 60-Yard Review

I've used Scotch Blue painter's tape before. It seems to be one of the better tapes out there, although it's certainly not perfect. Edge-lock sounded like something I should try. I paint projects frequently and need to make very small, precise lines. Although this tape is stickier than the original, there really isn't much of a difference between the two. In fact, with the paint I use, it bled slightly more than with the other tape.

I've noticed if you pull the tape off while the paint is still partially wet, it tends to look better, particularly if you pull it inward, toward the new paint line. This seems to pull some of the wet paint back to where it should be (if you're using a thick, sticky kind of paint like an model enamel paint). Even so, I was not impressed by the price or by the fact that it still bled in a lot of spots. Too much money for a product that is mediocre at best. I recommend their older tape. Better price and better results.

Edit: I changed the rating to a two star after I used the tape with regular house paint. It bleeds, badly, particularly with the thinner paint that was intended for it. I spent more time repairing the lines than I would have spent if I meticulously freehanded them. Again, I recommend the original. It still bleeds, but somewhat less.
