I bought three of these to make an adjustable stand for.... something. ;) I can adjust the height and I drill and tapped one for an accessory on the stand and that is also adjustable. They hold every bit of weight I put on them (about 20lbs max) and couldn't be happier. Sad to say that I sold my offhand rest I made since I am not.... participating in that event anymore.
