These are very dark, almost too dark = minus 1 star. It makes the sun look like you're watching it in a black and white TV show. But my biggest let down was with a lot of light smearing around the sun, exactly what I didn't want = minus 3 stars. I wanted to see a clear outline of the sun, where the edge of the sun stops and the sky begins. Instead it's the sun with a huge smear of light around the sun that prevents seeing anything that may be near the sun.

But I came up with a solution that works great for sun-watching, like it's in living color. I wear polarized sunglasses (amber) and look through a WoW 1996 Christian music CD. Part of the coloring on the CD is removed by design and I look through that part. Can't see a thing looking through the colored part of the CD. And I can't see through my blank DVD's either.
